Hello! Joe provided me with some excellent assistance shopping for stones via Reddit a month ago, and it saved me thousands. However, I waited too long to pull the trigger on his suggestions and the stones have been purchased.
I am ready to purchase again, and was able to put aside a little extra money to push my top end from $8000 to $9000.
Any new suggestions for me?
Hi, your criteria covers a pretty broad range. Here are a couple of options that span the color range. When you’re looking at them, keep the actual diameter in mm in mind – some of these are larger than others.

“Eye-clean” is somewhat subjective. For the most part, I prefer a clean table with inclusions near the edge. I also measure the dimensions of the inclusion on my monitor, measure the diameter of the diamond on the monitor, divide by two and multiply by the real diameter in mm to determine inclusion size. If it’s less than the width of a human hair, then I think it should be eye-clean. The one thing to watch out for are stones that look eye-clean but have reduced transparency. I would avoid diamonds that say “Clarity based on clouds not shown” or diamonds that have pervasive clouds with other contributing factors like internal or surface graining. Can you provide some links to the diamonds you’re considering? It’s easier to evaluate a concrete example. If you’d prefer not to share it publicly, you can email me or PM me on reddit.
Hi Joe, Would you be willing to hop on a Skype or Discord call with me to look over a few options? Every time I pick a good stone, they sell before I pull the trigger.

Is there any way to tell what are “eye clean” and what aren’t? I’m ready to execute the purchase, but nervous about buying something I haven’t seen. I’ve heard the type of inclusion and inclusion plot are extremely important in finding “eye clean” stones. Can I really trust the pics on the website? Thanks!
