Hi – thank you for your help.
What are your thoughts on this diamond? https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.51-carat-f-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-11350740?a_aid=55f8cd4e21a11
My max budget is $15k so I was wondering if there is anything you are seeing that is a better value in the same diamond quality range.
Color: G+
Clarity: SI1+
Thanks again.
This 1.51 F VS2 shows strong graining (those faint lines you see as you rotate it) and a cloud complex right in the center of the table. You might consider the options below.
If you’re getting a halo setting, then I think the 1.52 E SI1 is the best value. There is a feather by the girdle (right at the edge around 2:30) which would be protected by the halo.
Otherwise, I think the 1.5 G VS2 would save some money and you wouldn’t have to worry about protecting the feather. You can put a prong close to the crystal at 8 o’clock. This diamond has better crystal quality than the 1.51 F VS2.
And then you could go a bit bigger with the 1.6 G VS2. But I think either of the first two options would be more worthwhile.
