Joe, if you’re reading this I wanted to start by saying what an incredible service this website provides. Thank you.
Using the screener I found this diamond: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/2.09-carat-e-color-vs1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-10473192?a_aid=55f8cd4e21a11
With a budget of ~$25k does this diamond provide good value? Any yellow/red flags? Any better alternatives in a professionals opinion?
I think this might be a hazy fluorescent diamond. Medium fluorescence can be fine, but the crystal should be clear. This one shows strain from the clouds and internal graining.
I had a hard time finding an alternative I liked under $25k (medium fluorescence usually trades at a discount). The options below were the closest to $25k that I liked. The 2.01 E VS2 reduces the fluorescence to none with no strain. The 2.5 F SI1 adds another 0.5ct, so that seems worth the $2k jump with the color and clarity trade. The twinning wisps are 0.06mm wide in real size terms, so they should be eye-clean.
