I’m in the market for a round diamond in the 1.4 – 1.5 carat range, G-I color, and eye clean. I’m planning to set this diamond in a white gold solitaire setting, and my budget is roughly $7.5k USD.
Grateful for your recommendations/advice!
My options so far are:
I would choose between options 1 and 2. Option 3 is a darker I color and has black inclusions. I think the twinning wisps in the 1.51 I SI1 would be eye-clean, so it’s up to you. You did a nice job searching, I couldn’t find anything better for the price.
No, slightly thick is fine. The average diameter for a 1.4ct EX diamond is 7.15mm (https://www.diamondscreener.com/education/round-diamond-carat-size-chart/). This is 7.11mm, which is a negligible difference.
Thanks Joe! I’m leaning towards the VVS2, however I’m slightly concerned about the thickness of the girdle. Do you think this will make the diamond appear smaller?
