hello what is your opinion on the rating of the holloway cut advisor when it comes to evaluating the sparkle, light performance etc.

I don’t think it’s useful.
- The HCA represents one man’s subjective opinion. It’s self-described as subjective in its methods.
- It provides a false sense of numerical precision. What does a difference of 0.5 mean? What is the difference between a score of 1.8 and 2.3?
- It is logically inconsistent. Lower scores are better (as assigned per the methods), look for diamonds under 2, but avoid diamonds 0-1?
- It predates and has been superseded by the GIA and AGS grading criteria. Only Pricescope recommends it as part of their dogma (where Holloway is a minority owner of the site).
