Hey Joe – looking for round diamond in the 10-11k range and as close to 1.5 carats if possible.
I’ve been trying to play with the filters on the cost efficiency frontier to find the best bang for my buck but I get a little overwhelmed and afraid to pull the trigger.
I found this one diamond this morning and wanted to get your thoughts on it or see if you can find anything better: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.41-carat-g-color-vs1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-4632051?a_aid=55f8cd4e21a11
Hi David,
The diamond you found is a nice choice and is probably the best of the 3 that I found in my own search for 1.4+ G+ SI1+ diamonds <$11k. The options are 1.5ct in size, but come with their own trade-offs.
The 1.4 G SI1 below is a bit cheaper and at 7.32mm has the same diameter as a 1.5ct diamond. It’s AGS 0 Ideal, but it doesn’t look quite as nice as the 1.41 G VS1.
The 1.5 F SI1 hits the 1.5ct mark and goes up a grade in color compared to the G VS1. The crystal is about 0.08mm in size, which I think would be eye-clean, but again the VS1 just seems to pop more.
Best,
Joe
