Hi there,
I’m looking to buy the best D color 1 carat diamond at 8000 CAD range. My concern is fluorescence since it could potentially make a colorless diamond hazy in some cases but I can’t tell… the support agents couldn’t help out either.
Ideal Cut | D Color | VS2 Clarity | Strong Blue | C$8,328.00
Ideal Cut | D Color | VS2 Clarity | FLUORESCENCE: Medium | C$8,000.00~C$8,400.00
I was also wondering if it is worth upgrading to VVS2 for 1000 more
Ideal Cut | D Color | VVS2 Clarity | FLUORESCENCE: Strong| ~ C$9,000.00
I think you can render the question of fluorescence moot with something like the diamond below. Optimal proportions, faint fluorescence, and saves you money. I think the white inclusions of the SI1 are better than the black inclusions of the VS2’s.
I wouldn’t consider it an upgrade to VVS2 at the expense of fluorescence. I think the first and third VVS2’s have a decent chance of being hazy.

Neither are a concern, otherwise I wouldn’t have recommended it. Symmetry and polish are secondary or tertiary characteristics.
Hi Joe,
In the GIA report, the comments say “Additional Pinpoints” are not shown.
The symmetry is also not “Excellent”, only “Very Good”. Would that affect the brilliance and sparkle of the the diamond much?
