Hello,
I’d really love your opinion on the following three stones:
I will be creating a two stone ring by paring one of the above stones with a current stone that I have: GIA 15285790 (1.54 carats, G color, VS1 cut). I like the aesthetic of mismatched sized stones, so I would like the stones to be visually distinct in size.
What do you think would be the best choice?
And thank you so much ahead of time for your help!
Interesting, you’re also pairing a natural with a lab diamond.
I would go with the the 2.32 G VS1 or the 2.06 G VS1. The 2.5 G VS1 is shallow based on my recommended Asscher proportions, while the other two diamonds match those broad specs.
I’m not as familiar with these photography styles. I would ordinarily look for alternating concentric squares of light and dark. I also think it’s hard to evaluate color and CVD strain from these videos. I think the 2.5 G VS1 shows the most strain, the 2.32 G VS1 some, and it’s difficult to see it in the 2.06 G VS1. I think the 2.06 G VS1 might be a bit more brown than the 2.32 G VS1, but again it’s really hard to tell from this photography.
I might lean towards the 2.32 G VS1 based on this information.
I think they’re similar for strain. I’d go with the cheaper one.
Hi Joe. Thank you so much for your assessment! I really appreciate it.
I found another video of the 2.32 G VS1. (It’s really the same video but at least you can pause it.)

I also found another stone that seems like it could work. This one is a 2.34 F VVS2. Like the 2.32 it meets your recommended proportions for a good stone.

Will you let me know what difference in strain you see between these two stones? And which one you’d recommend?
Thank you so much again. Your site is a super helpful resource!
