Just a quick question. Was putting in numbers and what classifies as GIA ideal on this site doesn’t necessarily match up with the AGS tables from 2005 https://cdn.ymaws.com/www.americangemsociety.org/resource/resmgr/docs/AGSLab/AGS-Cut-System.pdf
Did AGS update their grading system for round brilliants since this was presented?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Lee, what are the proportions? On my cut estimator page I link to the AGS Tables I use, which are from 2008. I did a quick check and they appear to be different from this older slide deck.
Thanks Joe,
For example, table 59%, crown angle 34deg, pavilion angle 41.0deg places it center at GIA ex and AGS ideal on your site, but it sits outside AGS0 on the slide deck. Is it safe to say the slide charts are just outdated?
I saw newer charts on octonus.com
http://legacy.octonus.com/oct/mss/gia-agspgs.phtml
which look like they match up with your data?
Thanks for any help. Just want to make sure I’m using most current information.
Yes, the slides are older.
Thanks Joe. Appreciate the help and great site.
Apologies. I meant to say AGS tables not matching. Thank you. Sorry for my mistake.
