Hi, your website has been absolutely invaluable to me as I have been thoroughly researching this once-in-a-lifetime purchase. I’m hoping / praying I could get your eyes directly on my current situation – I’m looking for a lab-grown oval diamond that hits somewhere near the following criteria, which I understand based on my research to be indicative of ideal proportions:
- Cut: N/A (looking for Oval)
- Carat: Somewhere around 3 ct, flexible though
- Color: D, E, F
- Clarity: I mainly care that it’s eye-clean
- Table %: 54%-58%
- Depth %: 62%-66%
- Polish / Symmetry: Excellent or Very Good
- Length to Width: 1.30%-1.35%
The problem is that there appears to be precious little inventory fitting the above criteria. The following four were some of the few I found that came close, each with their own caveats:

Do any of the above stand out to you? Is the price range seen above reasonable in this current market where there seems to be precious few stones meeting this criteria? Is there something you’ve seen recently that I’ve missed? I would hugely appreciate any insight you could provide.
And finally, when I make my purchase, is there some way I can toss you a referral ID for all of your help?
Thank you so much! You are an invaluable resource!
Of these options, I would go with the 3.02 F VS1 from BE. The 3.66 D VS1 and 3.08 E SI1 both show significant bow ties. The 3.08 E SI1 also has a large black flux inclusion and won’t be eye-clean. The 3.08 E VS1 has too short of a L/W ratio at 1.29 and I’m not a fan of the facet appearance.
The 3.02 F VS1 looks good re: proportions, bow tie, and L/W ratio. It’s CVD, so I think it’s slightly brown, but you’re stuck for choice since there aren’t many 3ct lab ovals available on any site. I looked elsewhere and I still thought this was the best of everything available and is the best compromise.
Those proportions criteria for ovals are different from what I recommend in my oval analysis.
I don’t have an affiliation with BE, so there’s no referral if you decide to go with the 3.02 F VS1. Let me know if you find anything else.
