I’m having trouble picking a diamond around the 10k mark, 1.5ct.
Is it important to get the “ideal” proportion filter available on this website? Would the SI1s be eye-clean?
I have a couple short listed like below.
Thanks for your help!

For JA, I estimate ideal proportions and symmetry are using computer vision. For most searches it’s a good, safe filter, but it does produce false negatives (i.e. misses diamonds that have AGS 0 Ideal proportions). If I run a custom query on my backend and tweak the threshold for calling a diamond “ideal” to expand the pool of 1.5ct options ~$10k, then I find the diamonds below. If you pull their grading reports, they are all GIA EX/AGS 0 Ideal. They are cleaner VS2’s and they reduce the fluorescence to faint, so you might consider them as alternatives to your list.
It’s harder to find eye-clean SI1’s as the carat size increases. I didn’t see any SI1’s that I liked in their current inventory, but they do exist in general.

Under $10k, I think the options below would fit at 1.3ct.
You will have to ask them for the reports, but you can wait until you’ve decided at the end if you’d rather not deal with sales yet. That’s how you should buy a diamond anyways – see how it looks and then verify what you see with the report, rather than the other way around.

Thanks Joe, comparing all of these, I like the 1.5F VS2 10530 one the most. One last question though – do you think the long white inclusion near the centre on the surface that looks like a scratch would be visible? I talked to their sales person and they said all VS2s are eye clean but I’m not quite sure if that’s true
You mean the one just outside the table around 3 o’clock? No, it’s white, outside of the table, and 0.08mm wide in real size terms. And in terms of length, it’s 0.38mm long. Measure it on your screen, measure the diameter of the diamond on your screen, divide the two, and multiply by the diameter in mm to get to the real size.
Hm I got the GIA report for it but it looks like it’s a “indented natural” I’m guessing you can feel those..
Thank you so much Joe for your explanation! This website is amazing. Could you run the same (relaxed ideal rules, VS2) but for 1.3 – 1.5 carats?
Also, how did you pull the grading reports? The button for me makes me call their sales person which I’m not too keen about. Is there a hidden URL you can access? Thanks!
