Hi, I found a pear diamond that fits most of my specs for an engagement ring and fits in my price range. It will be set in 18K yellow gold with white gold prongs. I noticed it has some blue nuance as many HPHT do and the price is lower because of it. Can someone please offer me their opinion whether this will be unacceptable? I know that it will be best to check in person but I am buying outside of US and everything will be video or pics. Even then I am not sure how to check it since I am not experienced enough.

Even though it looks like it has some blue hue from the video, it’s still E color. Ordinarily, I would suggest another option without blue to make it a non-issue. However, an eye-clean 2ct E VS2 for $4661 is tough to beat. The alternatives are worse – brown H color with fuzzy CVD strain?
The video isn’t great for evaluation, either for evaluating color or for evaluating the cut (you’d want it rotating around the other axis). But again, for $4661 that’s tough to beat. I’d say it’s worth the risk if you’re able to return it with minimal hassle should you not like it.
