Hi, I’ve been looking for an oval lab with my fiancee.
We found this E VS1 diamond using your tool that has really nice proportions (she prefers slightly more elongated oval shapes).
Is this a good choice?
We were also comparing it to this supposedly almost identically specced diamond but which looks slightly yellow in comparison. Is the stone we are looking at slightly blue or this one slightly brown or are we just imagining the difference?
Thanks in advance for your help and thanks for creating such a great website!
I think 9800521 is slightly blue. The score from my computer vision algorithm to detect blue nuance was just below my cutoff to call it blue. It’s not as blue as some other more obvious blue E’s, but it’s right on the threshold.
I prefer 9802440, both because of the lack of blue and because it’s not as dark down the middle when you rotate it slightly to the left or right.
I also liked the option below. It has a different pavilion facet pattern, so it’s a little less mushy to me on the sides of the table.

I think it’s reasonable.
Thanks again for your help. Will it be eye clean? Also you mentioned mushiness around the edges with the previous choices, is that the case with this one as well?
Dropping down slightly in colour I also found:
It looks pretty nice and has higher carat weight & L/W ratio. Would this be a better option?
I think both are nice. It depends on whether you want to trade color and spend a little more to hit 1ct.
Hi, thanks for your suggestion. If possible I’d like to go with a slightly higher L/W ratio as she prefers that aesthetic. Is this a reasonable option or is it also slightly? blue https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/0.94-carat-e-color-vs2-clarity-sku-10125413?a_aid=55f8cd4e21a11
