Your website has been very helpful for learning about what to look for. I’ve been looking for a round brilliant in 2.5-3 carat range, will be set in platinum pave setting. My biggest debate has been color as I’m not sure how far down I can go. I’m ok with a little warmth from the side but I would like it to face up white. Thoughts on either of these?

I’d go with the 2.92 J VS2. The I has better proportions, but it has strong fluorescence, so it’s probably overgraded for color. I’d rather have a larger J with medium fluorescence with slightly lesser proportions.
The 2.58 J VVS1 (9.02×8.96mm) has about the same spread as the 2.92 J VS2 (9.11×9.05mm), the clarity of the 2.66 I VVS1, shows the arrows better, reduces fluorescence to none, and saves $863. So that might be worth considering too. But if you want raw carats, then go for the 2.92 J VS2.

Yes, there’s the chance that J might be too yellow for you, but it depends on your eyes and personal tolerance. You’ll have to decide if that’s the trade-off you want to make for this size at this budget.
The reason to avoid I color with strong fluorescence is due to overgrading, as described in this article https://acagemlab.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/CowingOvergrading.pdf. There’s a good chance that a strong fluorescent I would be equivalent to a lower color grade for a non-fluorescent diamond. Don’t trade fluorescence to go up in color.
