I went to a jewelry store in Rochester Hills, MI and looked at a Tacori ribbon style size 7 ring. The gentleman said for that ring to go 1-1.25 Ct. but no larger than 1.25 Ct. I think the ring is $3,900. I wanted to be at $10,000 to $13,000 total, but want the best quality diamond. Thank you for the research you do. – CJ

I like the options below. I think the first two options provide better value compared to the latter two options, but the latter two options go up in color and size for you to compare. There was one 1.2ct H that fit your criteria, but it was a lower H on the color scale, closer to I, so I passed on that one. These are nice H+ diamonds that would be fine in platinum.

Joe. A GIA gemologist at rare carat like #1 and #3. I’m torn between 2, 3, and 4. However, Adiamor has #4 for about $900 less. I was thinking of calling James Allen and having them do a price match. StoneAlgo shows #2 looks visually like 1.08, #3 like 1.09 and #4 as 1.13 carats based on cut to the eye. #4 has a cut score of 9.6/10 #3 an 8.2/10 and #2 a 9.1 out of 10 cut score. Thanks.
I would not pay any attention to the unvalidated data from StoneAlgo. You won’t notice any difference between purported “visual carats” at 1.08 and 1.13 – they’re all going to look similar. That is, they’re all within 0.1mm of each other and you won’t see the difference. And their cut score is garbage.
If you can price match the 1.16 H VS1, I’d probably lean towards that one.
Oops, sorry. Round solitaire and the ring would be platinum.
