Hi there,
Been falling down this diamond rabbit hole and came across some of your posts on reddit and ended up here when reading about being careful for the blue hue. I am leaning towards purchasing this ring https://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/three-stone/14k-white-gold-diamond-three-stone-ring-item-63933 and am looking for a 1.5-1.75 lab diamond for the center. This one caught my eye but wasnt sure if I could go larger and drop the clarity and still find something eye clean. https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.51-carat-g-color-vs2-clarity-ideal-cut-sku-10039559.
This 1.51 G VS2 is has a blue hue – it says blue nuance on the grading report. It also has some black needles outside of the table around 6 o’clock.
Something like the option below would match your criteria. It drops the clarity to SI1 as you’ve considered. It will be eye-clean – cleaner than the 1.51 G VS2 because the inclusions are smaller. It should be eye-clean. Compared to the 1.51 G VS2, it trades one clarity grade for two color grades, 0.1ct, and saves $110. It’s not blue.
