Hello,
I was wondering if it is of concern that the GIA report date is very old.

Hi Sam,
An older report suggests it was a trade-in or a diamond that the dealer bought on the secondary market. It would be helpful to have a newer report in case some damage happened to the diamond since the report was issued – for instance if one of the corners of the diamond chipped.
However, if it checks out, then the diamond is still the diamond. The older report just changes your own perception of it since it’s not “new.”
Best,
Joe
